Cheap Restaurants in Chicago

Cheap Restaurants in Chicago

It might surprise you to know that some of the most popular restaurants in Chicago aren’t the five star restaurants, but are the cheap restaurants located deep in Chicago’s ethnic neighborhoods and offers dishes as good as any fancy restaurant lover could hope for.  In Chicago, famous restaurants aren’t necessarily the most expensive, but are restaurants with a rich history, signature menu items, and often a long standing rivalry with their competitors.

From gems like finding world class sushi in Chicago to the top ten restaurants featured in Chicago’s MetroMix, the sheer volume of famous restaurants to locals and tourists alike, the list is both fancy restaurants and local hotspots, all vying for your dining dollars.  What is the best restaurant in Chicago?  With so many to choose from, the choice is yours.  Popular restaurants like one of the many infamous Chicago pizza joints to the fancy steakhouses frequented by Chicago’s celebrity set, to the fresh food centered ethnic eateries, there are so many famous restaurants in this city, it’s hard to like the best restaurants in Chicago, it all comes down to a matter of taste.

Personally, I’m a fan of many of the cheap restaurants and a handful of the five star restaurants, there is just so much to taste in this city that even going to the top ten restaurants is still a slim sampling of the many options available to urbanites here.  And with new restaurants opening every week, there is always an up-and-coming hotspot to check out.  Many of my friends swear by Chicago’s fancy restaurants and claim those are clearly the ones in the cities list of top 10 restaurants, but finding the best restaurant in Chicago is more like finding hay in a haystack.  They are literally everywhere, in every neighborhood, on every street, and within everyone’s price range.

If you’re looking for a review of some of the city’s best restaurants, check out Chicago MetroMix for a list of popular restaurants from the fancy restaurants to the cheaper dives to the pizza places the city has in abundance, there is more choices than there is time to try them all.  I’d love to recommend a clear favorite, but like most Chicago residents, I cannot pick one clear favorite of my city’s famed and famous restaurants, but I would recommend that you try some of Chicago’s cheap restaurants and be prepared to be amazed by the depth of flavor, funky and fabulous history, and phenomenal service that Chicago’s restaurant scene is famous for.
